Unit specifications

The BASE Enterprise Centre opened its doors in February 1999 as an enterprise centre with 14 incubator unit.  These units are located in the Michael Galvin Building and due to sub division there are currently 16 Incubation Units, a Board Room, Reception area, kitchen area and other facilities, as well as the BASE’s own office suite.  At present units are filled with a variety of companies including software development, telecoms services, IT services, consultancy services and service sector companies.

Incubator units

The resident companies in the specified incubator units are given an annual license, which can be renewed for up to 3 years, after which the companies are expected to relocate in the mainstream property market.  The Centre also operates a stepped-license fee policy, offering a low license fee in year one, increasing by approximately 33% in year two and a similar percentage increase in year three.

Enterprise Units

In April 2004 BASE opened a second phase of enterprise units.  The project was supported by Fingal County Council and Fingal County Enterprise Board and built by Ellney Limited.

BASE Phase 2 is aimed at growth-phase companies, either those who have graduated from our incubator units, or are at a stage of development where they needs more space.  Local social enterprises are also identified for priority.   Phase 2 constitutes 2 building blocks; B & C, within the new BASE Park Development.  There are, in general, two size of unit, 400 square feet units and 1,500 square feet units.  The smaller units are outfitted to office specification.  The larger units come in two specifications; office and light industrial.
